Designer #3 - Fam Irvoll

It's safe to say that with a breakthrough Spring/Summer '12 collection under her belt, Norwegian designer Fam isn't going to be unknown for long after attracting attention with her outlandish collection. The designer took a bold approach, reiterating the fact that fashion should always be fun. Her combination of cartoon prints, exaggerated silhouettes and quirky prints provided the perfect antidote to the wave of pastels that were to be found in other collections. Her signature block-colour creepers were the talk of many, as were the stuffed pigs heads sewn onto ballerina dresses. Her Autumn/Winter '12 collection follows the same tongue-in-cheek aesthetic which the designer is gradually becoming renowned for. In a time of economic difficulty a new wave of designers are here to prove that fashion shouldn't be disposable, but it should always be exciting. Right now, it's safe to say that Fam is the leader of the pack.
